2020 was designated as the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife by the World Health Organization in recognition of the contributions they make and the risks associated with nursing shortages.
Our Community would like to take this wonderful opportunity to also say THANK YOU to our nurses and midwives for the great work they do everyday. This project is a community arts initiative developed by Local Artist Katrina Elliott and supported by the Community, Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum & The Art Gallery Gladstone Hospital.
The exhibition at Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum comprises of wonderful stories from nurses and midwives throughout the Gladstone region, photographs, memorabilia, childrens area and a chance to look into the future of healthcare. An exhibition will also follow The Art Gallery Gladstone Hospital.
Saying “Thank you” on a Community scale. Kits have been designed so that our whole community can participate in saying thank you during the week of 6th to 13th March 2020 .
