The author and artist of the work Bindi Waugh is an indigenous writer and artist who lives in Yarwun. She is an Iman / Bungalung woman who works across a variety of mediums.
The poem “MOTHER EARTH” is currently used by the Department of Education in Queensland by upper primary school students in the indigenous studies curriculum.
The words originally accompanied an exhibition of paintings and sculptures called EARTH MOTHER DANCING and was then published 2003 in “CROW FEATHERS” an
Indigenous collection of poems and images by Black Ink Press.
